The opening chapters of the book of Acts show Jesus Christ’s followers gathering to pray and to encourage each another. The New Testament makes it clear that the early followers of Jesus spent time together and treated each other as family.
We at Grace Brethren Church believe that the local church, a consistent gathering of believers who share common beliefs and goals, is God’s plan. It enables us to fulfill Jesus’ command to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything He has commanded us (Matthew 18:19-20). Grace Brethren Church exists to encourage Jesus’ followers through community and worship, and to equip them to live according to His commands.
What do we believe? Here’s a thumbnail sketch:
God Loves People! He desires a close relationship with us: but by nature we are sinful, and sin keeps us separated from God. Jesus Christ, Who is God come among us in human skin, voluntarily died to pay for our sins and to remove the guilt which keeps us from relationship with Him. His sacrificial death purchased a place in Heaven for us which He offers as a free gift. When we accept this gift by faith, we receive His forgiveness and enter a life-changing relationship with Him that will last forever, even after this physical body dies.
