Legacies of Faith
Be Prepared
As Paul brings his letter to Timothy to a close, he gives him a “charge” – a charge to be ready at all times to share the good news of Jesus. Paul has fought the good fight, and is handing off his calling to Timothy. As we conclude our study this week, let’s consider our calling to be ready to share the good news of Jesus, so we may one day rest knowing we have “fought the good fight”, leaving a Legacy of Faith.
Sacred Writings
The key to navigating life in this world is God’s Word. The help we need in life is not “self-help”, it is God’s help. Join us this Sunday as we are encouraged to find God’s help in God’s Word, where we find all truth, for life.
The Last Days
As we look around at the state of the world today, it is no surprise what we are seeing. This Sunday, God’s Word will remind us to keep our guard up and avoid getting caught up in the things of the world. We are in the “last days” of the brokenness that surrounds us.
Passions and Priorities
As children of God, we are called to live in ways that set us apart from the world, and that reflect the holiness of God. This Sunday, we are going to be encouraged to continually be mindful of our passions being God’s passions, and our priorities being God’s priorities.
What’s In a Word
Words have the power to heal and to hurt – the power to build up and beat down – the power to convey truth and conceal truth. Join us this Sunday as we are reminded of our calling to keep our words aligned with God’s Word – to use our words as agents of healing, hope and truth, in Jesus.
Unbound
Despite what the world has done, is doing, and will attempt to do, to silence God’s Word, God’s Word cannot be “bound”. We can take confidence that despite the schemes of the enemy over the course of human history, God’s Word is enduring, because God’s truth cannot be overcome.
All In
The legacy of faith God calls us to, is one which is “all in” for Jesus. The apostle Paul reminds us this week, we are not called to a “lukewarm” faith. Our calling is to a faith that is focused, disciplined and intentional.
Pass It On
God doesn’t “need” us for anything He chooses to accomplish. Yet, His desire and plan is to use each of us to pass the faith on to the next generation of believers. Join us this Sunday to be encouraged in our calling to take our faith and “Pass It On”.
Guard the Good Deposit
We are called not just to hear God’s Word, respond to God’s Word, and share God’s Word, but also to guard God’s Word. Today, more than ever, the Church is under pressure to conform God’s Word to the ways of the world. However, God reminds us this week that the Holy Spirit within us gives us the power to guard the Word of God against the attacks from the world.
Unashamed
The world and the enemy of God are hard at work trying to “shame us” out of our faith, and keep us from sharing our faith. This week God’s word will remind us of the power of God that sustains us in sharing our faith, and the confident assurance we have of our salvation in Jesus, to live out our faith.
