Made For a Time Like This
God Leads the Way
God’s ways of leading us through life can frequently appear to be the more difficult ways, because God is looking at the bigger picture. God knows us, and knows our tendency to long for the false security of the things of this world, over the eternal security of the ways of God. Join us this week as we are reminded God’s ways are always the best ways and are always leading us towards our home in His heavenly Kingdom.
Remembering God’s Deliverance
Our remembrance of God’s deliverance of us keeps us humble before God, increases our love for God, and leads us to bring our worship to God. However, God also infuses our remembrances of His deliverance of us with power for life in this world. What the Passover is to Egypt, the resurrection is to us today. As we prepare to hear from God this week look back to the cross and recall the depth of God’s love and the power He holds over all of life. Take heart in whatever trial you may be facing, remembering that our God Who gave His only Son to deliver us from our sins and death, can be counted on to deliver us from any trial the world may bring our way.
God Delivers
God’s deliverance of Israel called them to three things: obedience to His commands, preparation for His call, and trust in His Word. As we prepare to hear from God this week, pray for clarity of His calling on your life, that you are prepared to respond to His calling, and that you will trust Him to do all He asks of you, through you.
To Know God
God’s work of revealing of Himself to Israel, was also intended to cause those who were not His own to come to know He Is the One and Only God, as well. This week, we see God use ten plagues to lead the people of Egypt to acknowledge His power and authority exceeds that of Egypt’s ruler, and Egypt’s gods. As believers today, we should be living with an urgency to make Jesus known to the world, because God promises, just like Pharoah ultimately bowed to the power and authority of God, when Jesus returns, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess, He is Lord.
God Will Act
God’s encouragement to Israel in our passage this week, is His encouragement to us in life today. We can take heart in His calling to live for Him and our eternal heavenly home, because it is God Who will make all things, He has provided to us in Jesus, come to pass.
What Is God Doing?
It is so easy to presume God has us in the wrong place at the wrong time when things are not going to our liking. Like Moses, we need to learn to trust that God uses all our situations and circumstances in life to accomplish His Kingdom plan for us. Maybe you’ve had one of those Moses moments, where you wonder what God is doing in your life. Join us Sunday to see how God is building us up for the tasks ahead in life, even when we don’t understand how.
A Blinded World
So often in life, we are confronted with those who don’t know God, and who believe they are in control in life. This week, God’s Word reminds us to not allow ourselves to doubt God’s presence and power over all of life, even in the face of those who believe God has no control over their life. As Moses learned to stand before Pharoah, strong in God’s power, we can stand before the world, strong in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Victory!
Easter is a celebration of how Jesus, seemingly defeated on the cross, proves to be the Victor over His enemies. Jesus rising from the grave to bring us everlasting life is the greatest victory to ever be won. Join us this week as we celebrate Jesus’ victory over sin and death, and as we praise God for our salvation in Him.
