Peter begins his letter with a powerful reminder that our salvation in Jesus is not dependent on us, but rests in God’s all-powerful hands. Consequently, we can rest assured that He will provide all that we need to live as the new creations we are in Christ. We were not chosen to be abandoned. We were chosen by God to live in the victory of Jesus over sin and death that he accomplished on the cross, in the power of His Holy Spirit, in assurance of our eternity in His Eternal Kingdom.
