The world was hopelessly lost; consumed by the sins of man. Israel, God’s chosen people, had gone their own way. It was time of tiredness and broken heartedness for Israel. There was no peace. It was a time like today for many of us. It was in the depths of brokenness, that Isaiah prophesied for God, that God would bring forth the Savior who would bind up broken hearts, proclaim liberty to the captives of sin, and would set us free from the wages of our sin. Jesus would bring the only peace that we can ever truly know. The promise was awaiting fulfillment in Jesus.
