The Easter Message focuses on how God works in ways that we often cannot anticipate, or comprehend, because they defy what we know to be humanly possible. God's ways can often defy "common sense". Paul told the Corinthians the cross is foolishness to those outside the church, because the nonspiritual cannot understand the spiritual. The cross to those who saw Jesus dead upon it, even His disciples, appeared to mark the end of both His life and ministry. Common sense says a dead man cannot rescue you, cannot save you, cannot deliver you to eternal life, but God's ways defy what we would know to be "common sense". God's ways are "Un-common", beyond our ability to comprehend, but yet within our ability, through God's grace, to accept when we see it. No matter where we are in life, knowing God has power over all things, even death itself, should be the encouragement to step forward in faith and accept what Jesus did for our salvation for eternity, and should be our encouragement that God's faithfulness to His promises of being with us in all things of today, are true.
