Servants of Christ, Stewards of God!

Dario Agnolutto • 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, 8-13

From the series: Dear Church

One of the problems of the Corinthians faced was confusing the things of the world with the things of God. Paul reminded them that he and his fellow workers were about the things of God, not the things of the world. The Corinthians thought they had all they needed in the things of the world, but Paul contrasted the faithless steward with the faithful steward to emphasize that the measure of faithfulness for Jesus is not in the things of the world. We labor as God’s church today, not to gain material possessions, or the acclaim of men, but to proclaim the eternal Gospel of Jesus and to receive our eternal rewards. This may mean we do without in this world – without applause, without appreciation, without acceptance by men – but it will reap eternal blessings before God, our Father.
