Forever is not a concept we can truly appreciate. Yet, forever exists. Isaiah was not only declaring to Judah that they would be delivered from darkness, but that they would be delivered into the promised everlasting Kingdom of peace. This was good news to Judah that God’s covenant would be fulfilled, despite having to suffer consequences for having not lived up to the covenant. It is good news for us today, that our eternity with God in Christ is likewise assured by Jesus having paid the penalty for our sins, once for all – and that we, like Judah, will enter into the eternal peace of God in His heavenly Kingdom.
